Occlusal correction means changing the shape and position of the biting surfaces so the jaw joints work in their most natural and comfortable positions. Done well it sets up a harmonious relationship between joints, muscles, teeth and supporting structures.
The three-way Schwarz with a pull forward ramp addresses transverse and vertical discrepancies while gently moving the mandible forward, helping seat the condyles properly in the glenoid fossa.
Posterior bite planes disclude the back teeth. That separation cuts unwanted occlusal contacts and muscular strain, and together with the pull forward ramp it works toward better jaw alignment and stability.
