Classic or X3
Both are printed in the same nylon with no metal parts. The difference is the mechanism and how the appliance is retained. As Panthera describes them:

How a Panthera case works

You prescribe
After the patient's physician has diagnosed, you choose the appliance and take the records.

You send the records
Scans of the upper and lower, or impressions, with a bite at the position you want.

We handle the order
The sleep lab checks the prescription, calls you if anything is unclear, and places the case.

It is designed and printed
Panthera designs each appliance in its own software from your scan and prints it in nylon.

You seat and titrate
You deliver the appliance and make the adjustments, with follow-up as you would with any oral appliance.
- Indication. Panthera states that both appliances are FDA 510(k)-cleared, by prescription, to reduce or alleviate snoring and mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea in adults.
- Bite changes. As with any oral appliance, long-term wear can change the bite and tooth position. Panthera itself describes this as expected, so plan for follow-up.
- Instructions for use. Review the current instructions, contraindications and warnings from Panthera before you prescribe, at pantheradental.com.
- Scope. Diagnosis stays with the patient’s physician, and the appliance is prescribed and managed by the treating dentist. We build and support the case; we do not diagnose or treat patients.
