Adult relapse
The case that walks in every week.
Adults who had orthodontics years ago and have watched it slide. They are the reason G3 and G5 exist: short, precise, and finished with a retainer so it holds this time.
It is the most common adult case
Teeth that were straightened as a teenager and drifted once the retainer stopped being worn. Crowding of the lower front teeth, a rotated lateral, a space that has opened. The patient does not want braces again; they want it fixed quietly.
It is usually a short case
Most relapse is a few millimetres of movement across a handful of teeth. That is G3 or G5 territory — four to nine aligners — not a comprehensive plan. The tiers are built so you are not paying for stages the case will never use.
It ends in retention
Every package includes the initial retainer, because a relapse case that ends without one is a relapse case that comes back. Plan the retainer from the start and it ships with the last stage.
Better records, better plans
Add a cone beam to the case.
An intraoral scan gives us the crowns. A cone beam gives us everything underneath — roots, bone, airway, and the teeth that have not come in yet. Send it with the scan and the setup is planned against the whole picture, not the surface of it.
Send the DICOM export alongside your scan through the Customer Portal, or call the case desk and we will walk you through it.
Root position, not just crowns
A scan shows the crown. A cone beam shows where the root sits in the bone. Planning movement against the root means fewer surprises mid-treatment and a setup that reflects what is actually possible.
Bone limits before you expand
Thin buccal plates, dehiscence and fenestration are invisible on a surface scan. Knowing the bone envelope up front tells you how far a case can be expanded or proclined before you run out of support.
Airway in the same picture
For a laboratory that lives in sleep, this matters. A cone beam lets you see the airway alongside the arches, so an aligner plan and an airway assessment come from one record.
Impacted and unerupted teeth
Canines, third molars, supernumeraries. Their position and path change what a plan should do around them, and the cone beam is the only record that shows it.
