Is a custom-fit, removable dental device designed to treat snoring and mild-to-moderate obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) by gently shifting the lower jaw forward.

How It Works

  • Mandibular Advancement: The device includes upper and lower trays connected by interchangeable elastic straps that pull the lower jaw (mandible) forward.
  • Airway Opening: Moving the jaw forward and opening the bite increases space at the back of the throat, preventing soft tissues from collapsing and restricting airflow. [1, 2]
  • Adjustability: Dentists use various strap lengths (13 mm to 21 mm) and tension strengths (color-coded by firmness) to fine-tune jaw positioning for comfort and effectiveness. [1, 2]

Key Features & Benefits

  • Freedom of Movement: The elastic bands allow for lateral and protrusive jaw movement, making it more comfortable than rigid devices.
  • Oral Access: Patients can easily talk or drink water while wearing the appliance.
  • CPAP Alternative: It offers a quieter, less invasive alternative for people who cannot tolerate continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machines.

What to Expect

  • Initial Adjustments: Temporary side effects like excess saliva, dry mouth, or morning jaw muscle soreness are common during the first 10 days.
  • Professional Fitting: Custom versions require a prescription and fitting through a dentist or authorized dental lab, though temporary at-home testing kits also exist
