Dorsal

Gergen's 3D Advanced Dorsal

When AP advancement is not enough. Now you can titrate vertically.

3D printed

Designed on the scan, printed from the file.

This appliance is designed digitally and printed, then finished at the bench. The thickness is the thickness you prescribed at every point, and the file is kept, so a replacement is the same appliance again.

Scan or impressions, a bite where the design needs one, and a signed prescription. If anything on the Rx is left open, a technician calls your practice before the case is started.

Every dorsal appliance on the market titrates in one direction: forward. Some patients need more. Gergen's 3D Advanced Dorsal adds a second axis. The lower dorsal fins engage upper blocks that can be set for vertical opening as well as protrusion, so the airway response can be tuned in two dimensions without a new appliance.

It is designed digitally on your scans and printed metal-free, so there are no screws to strip, no wires to distort and nothing to corrode. Two independent arches, as a dorsal should be: the patient can open, speak and drink with it in.

The design file stays with the case. A replacement is the same appliance, and a change to the titration is a new print of the block, not a rebuild.

Commonly prescribed for

  • Obstructive sleep apnea and snoring where AP advancement alone has not produced the response
  • Patients who need vertical opening as part of titration
  • Metal-sensitive patients
