This appliance is designed digitally and printed, then finished at the bench. The thickness is the thickness you prescribed at every point, and the file is kept, so a replacement is the same appliance again.

The Panthera D-SAD, which Panthera calls its Classic appliance, is a custom device for snoring and mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea in adults. It is made of type 12 polyamide, a resistant, biocompatible nylon, and printed rather than hand-built. Every device is designed in Panthera's own software from a scan of your model or an intraoral scan.
Two thin splints are joined by replaceable rods made of the same nylon, so there is no metal in the appliance. The dentist titrates by changing the rods, in half-millimetre steps. Panthera describes the rods as resistant to bruxing, cracking and abrasion.
Send scans or impressions with the upper and lower arches and a bite registration at the position you want. If you are unsure whether the D-SAD or the X3 suits the case, call the sleep lab before you take the bite.
